I use Android and Dji Fly for quick transfer and Dji fly auto detects my mini 4 pro for quick transfer right on Dji Fly's home screen. I would think apple would be the same.
The battery level that triggers RTH varies depending on the distance from the home point and the calculated amount needed to safely come home. Flying beyond that is risky.
It teaches you the feel of the aircraft when you lose GPS so you don't panic the first time it happens, you can let go of the sticks and see exactly what the wind is doing.
I was fortunate enough to learn to fly on Phantom 3 Pro. The biggest reason I say that is it had a selectable Atti mode, newer drones do not. I actually flew alot in Atti mode, was more realistic, and it taught me what to expect in hard to control situations. My advice on this point is try to...
Trust me, turn your rc on and just forget about it, it will let you know its on eventually 😎 i first discovered this with my Phantom 2 when I was trying to revive a toast battery, letting the aircraft idle to cycle the battery slowly, every so often the RC would start beeping until I moved a...
Turn your remote on and just leave it, youll hear it eventually lol. Mine did it again just today when I first powered it on to check for updates (which it had) and i forgot it was on an updating while my Mavic Classic was charging and it told me lol
Ok my results:
Inside air temp 24 C
Idle time 20 minutes
Aircraft start temp 26.4 C (after fully charging)
Aircraft end temp 35.1 C
Battery start 100%
Battery end 85%
At no point did I touch a stick as to not reset any timer in the aircraft.
Props never shut down and I received no messages at...
You could be on to something, its possible that with the props idling (but not flying) they might actually interfere with the cooling action of the internal fan causing over heating. I will find out soon enough...
Now you have me curious and I'm gonna pull out my Classic and test. I'm well aware of the various DJI models that will overheat when left on with no props running but the Mavic 3 is not one with that issue, it's internal fan takes good care of the aircraft's temp. I'll start mine up cold with...
I think the OP's question is, "do the motors time out and stop if just left idling?" Why he is idling his motors is irrelevant to the question. To answer, I honestly don't know if the Mavic 3 times out. I've never tested mine in that scenario. I know the Phantoms will idle forever.
Typically, manned aircraft don't fly below 500 feet, but that's not always the case. As been mentioned, whenever i hear any aircraft approaching I get down low and close ASAP just to be safe.
I've used a launch pad ever since my first P3P. There are just some cases where the only other choice is hand launching and catching and not everyone is comfortable with that. I also believe the launchpad assists with identifying the home point when used correctly on take off.
